We went to the Lexington County Museum.

We learned what daily life was like for Native Americans.

We went to the science lab where Dr. Thompson showed us how evaporation and condensation work.

We are investigating why there is water on the outside of one cup and not the other.

We are investigating where the water on the outside of the cup came from.

We are seeing science in action!

Here is our water cycle bulletin board, along with the students' illustrations of the water cycle.

Field Study!!

Today we had a blast at the Lexington County Museum and Historical Restoration! We had the chance to experience and learn what daily life was like for Native Americans. We learned about the music they played and listened to, the stories they told, the games they played, the tools they used, and  the food they ate. Thank you so much to the parents that were able to come and share this experience with us, and we hope to see more of you in future field studies ahead.

Thank you,

Mrs. Mitchell

August 28- September 1

This week we discussed:

Science- In science, we analyzed the scientific method. The students were grouped together and became experts in a particular step, then shared and presented that step to the class, so that the other students can learn from them. We also debated why the scientific method is important for us use as scientist, and how it can help with problem solving.

Math- In math, we reviewed place value, multiplication and division by 10, and skip counting.  The students were able to work in their new eureka math workbooks as well as their math journal. We got to play many fun and educational activities.

Great job class! Keep up the incredible work and awesome behavior.

As a reminder, I hope to post pictures of the students, on our blog and on our school twitter page, for educational purposes, and so that you may see your child in action.  Please sign the Picture Permission Form so that I may include your child.
