Students can create their own flash cards, or the Dollar Stores sell them for a dollar as well. Currently we are working on multi-digit multiplication in class and we will be moving on to division shortly thereafter. Students who are struggling now will only struggle more as we continue on with new strategies.

Science

We will begin this 9 weeks with Stars and the Solar System. Students will exemplify the location and order of the planets as they orbit the Sun and the main composition of the planets. Students will need to know the names, location, and order of the planets. Students will begin their daily journal observations of the phases of the Moon. Students will create a Google Drawing of the Sun and the Planets that revolve around it.

We went to the Lexington County Museum.

We learned what daily life was like for Native Americans.

We went to the science lab where Dr. Thompson showed us how evaporation and condensation work.

We are investigating why there is water on the outside of one cup and not the other.

We are investigating where the water on the outside of the cup came from.

We are seeing science in action!

Here is our water cycle bulletin board, along with the students' illustrations of the water cycle.

Field Study!!

Today we had a blast at the Lexington County Museum and Historical Restoration! We had the chance to experience and learn what daily life was like for Native Americans. We learned about the music they played and listened to, the stories they told, the games they played, the tools they used, and  the food they ate. Thank you so much to the parents that were able to come and share this experience with us, and we hope to see more of you in future field studies ahead.
