August 28- September 1

This week we discussed:

Science- In science, we analyzed the scientific method. The students were grouped together and became experts in a particular step, then shared and presented that step to the class, so that the other students can learn from them. We also debated why the scientific method is important for us use as scientist, and how it can help with problem solving.

Math- In math, we reviewed place value, multiplication and division by 10, and skip counting.  The students were able to work in their new eureka math workbooks as well as their math journal. We got to play many fun and educational activities.

Great job class! Keep up the incredible work and awesome behavior.

As a reminder, I hope to post pictures of the students, on our blog and on our school twitter page, for educational purposes, and so that you may see your child in action.  Please sign the Picture Permission Form so that I may include your child.

Field Study!

Dear Parents and Guardian,

On Wednesday, September 27, 2017 we will be traveling to Lexington County Museum. As we study the Native American culture this museum gives good insight into the Cherokee culture. The students learn about the culture of the early Cherokee Indians and each child gets to make their own clay pinch pot to take back to their class.

The cost for this event is $6.00 (nonrefundable), which includes fees for bus transportation.

On Wednesday, September 27, 2017 we will be leaving Killian by 8:30am expecting to arrive by 9:30am at the museum and returning by 1:00pm.                                                                                                 All monies are due by Monday, September 25, 2017 in either cash or check.
Chaperones are welcome to come and join us, however, chaperones must get clearance from Richland 2 district office prior to attending this field study.

Attached to this post is the Field Study Permission Form.

Can't wait to see some of you there!
